Landing Page Optimization!

i would to share my personal experience with landing page optimization. I’m working for a company with many product and theme websites. We have many different agencies who offer SEO service in kind of SEO audits or a concept paper to improve the holistic quality for SEO, but in most of the cases not for the landing pages.

When i check the Search Position with the focused Keyword Combination i see for many many websites a lot of potentials. We can improve the page url, page titel or meta description and the keyword / customer content quality. It’s important to optimize your landing pages cause here is the customer action. So may you check your search ranking position of your most important landing pages and check the search engine outlook. Maybe you switch in the role of a customer and ask yourself, would i click on this page to get more information or service?

Here are my best practices tips for landing page optimization:

start with a landing pages list, include your priority
start research what are the most relevant keyword combinations for your landing page
identify the focused keyword combination for your landing page
setup your content and digital assets with your keyword combination
clear message for Call to Action, in few seconds the customer must find the right informations to made the right decisions
take care for a good link juice
if possible offer social shared options “like, +1, digg etc”
offer options to made a first visitor to returning visitor with tools “bookmarkeing, rss feed” and motivation “coupon, media downloads”
check your search position regularly
It’s not all google, check other search engines bing, yahoo, lycos etc as well, sometimes you can have more visibility for the engines if you optimize your content for the engines as well
sometimes it helps to change page title or description if you find more relevant keywords
your landing page is the door opener, so make sure that the rest of your website is visible in good quality
monitor your customer behavior with website metrics tools to optimize your content
in some case of you have different target groups for same product to offer special target group relvant landing pages, it makes not sense to offer a landing page to get a compromises
use A/B test, Heat Maps for your landing pages
check what your competitors are doing

i hope you can use some of my tips and i wish you all a good time in landing page optimization. For me is it a motivation to setup a landing page, to see the outlook in the search engines, to check the position of my focused keywords and to listen if my visitors are happy with my landing page.

SEO 2012 Tips & Trends!

i would like to share my personal view about SEO 2012 trends to drive successful websites. The main shift for 2012 is to coordinate all relevant online website activities like SEM, Event Campaigns and Social Media Activities in a common way. The main goal is to create a kind of harmony between the different channel to speak with a common voice about your products & services. I know that most of companies have for all channels different specialized agencies so it’s time to start a common online marketing strategy.

For 2012 we will have more pressure on the online market. The reason is that more and more companies will enter the online marketing world. The main goal is to present their products and services with online marketing. That’s the reason why we need more online marketing quality. We have to invest in more quality for onpage & offpage activities for your relevant target group to be on top. Further more we need a longterm online marketing strategy.

Here is a list of my SEO 2012 Trends & Tips.

1, Backlink Strategy, invest in good relevant backlinks with a high trust, search interest and reputation, avoid Backlink farms.
2, Use a SEO / SEM Tools or Partners to get more background information to identify the right conclusions.

3, Open the Door for Social Media Platforms and use social shared services to start viral effects.
4, The Media Planning Process, write down you strategic goals and activity plan for all related channels.
5, Motivation and Entertainment for your online customer. Make your first visitor to a returning and engaged customer. Point out your unique selling points.
6, Keep an eye on mobile and location based marketing and integrate the strategy in to your media planning process.
7, Take care for SEO Basics –> Link SlideShare & Trends.
8, Monitoring and fast reaction time for online marketing process changes, the customer habit is constantly in a change process.
9. Measure your success. Think about a scoring model for your relevant target customer. Answer the questions, what is the value for a returning relevant customer who is willing to buy your products /services or to share positive mentions to convinced others as new customer.
10, Think about Key Opinion Leadership Management and how you can identify and influence the influencer.
